Chiropractic is the non-invasive practice of adjusting the bones of the spine to remove misalignments, also known as subluxations, to allow the nervous system to communicate free up the messages going back and forth throughout the nervous system. This allows the nervous system to communicate properly the way nature intended it to. There are many chiropractors, like Dr. Matthew, trained to work on extremities as well as cranial bones when the body needs it.
Dr. Matthew focuses on helping each person achieve optimal musculoskeletal and nervous system function through the gentle, whole body chiropractic care she provides. She uses an intuitive approach based on twenty years in practice to determine what each individual needs. She also educates patients about their lifestyle choices, such as nutrition and exercise, so that they are more empowered to take care of their health outside of their regular adjustments.
Dr. Matthew specializes with individuals that prefer a low force type of chiropractic care and those that focus more on a wellness based lifestyle with the understanding that your health is your greatest asset.
Dr. Matthew enjoys working with people of all ages. The youngest person that she ever adjusted was minutes old and other patients are well up into the aging population, distinguished and wise as people would prefer to be called. Being in practice for so long has allowed her to go through several life transitions with patients in her practice.
Dr. Matthew is pregnancy and pediatric certified along with Webster technique trained through Sacro-Occipital Technique training although she does not focus as much on pregnancy and pediatric care as other chiropractors.
Dr. Matthew sees patients of all ages and health concerns. Patients usually find her seeking out low force/gentle chiropractic care.
Dr. Matthew has specific training with autism and autism spectrum issues otherwise called sensory integration dysfunction. Patients who experience this and any other type of neurodivergence greatly benefit from chiropractic treatments. People with learning differences find many of the same benefits. Techniques such as Sacro-Occipital Technique integrates cranial manipulation to balance out any misalignments that can be affecting the brain. Nutritional components along with more neuro-integrated at home exercises can add to the lifestyle benefits of care.
Dr. Matthew sees children and many adults with these particular concerns. Neurofeedback, done in office, also integrates very well with chiropractic adjustments and care plans. The goal is to help the individual’s nervous system handle their external environment better.
